  1. another dimension is the stretching of space near a mass, so distance changes with distance and time changes with time. That alone gives you 4 more dimensions.

  2. 4th dimension is time. there are other dimensions but i dont understand that either

  3. well lets define the term "dimension". it is something that can be used to mathematically describe physical realitites. so basically it is a property that affects everything in the universe... it is a property that everything shares. for example, everything in the universe has three spacial properties: it has the property of depth, legth, and depth. my dog... a piece of paper... a planet... a cell... an atom.... they all have length, width, and height. everything in the universe has these properties. but there are other dimensions as well. time, is the 4th dimension. everything in the universe is affected by time.

but many physicists agree that there are more dimensions. the string, well the super string theory to be exact, theorizes that there are actually 11 total dimensions. infinity is one, among others all having to do with time and infinity.

many people think that a dimension is a place. this idea was made popular in science fiction books in the 70's. obviously, this isn't true.

so far, the dimensions that are proven are:

    1. length

    2. width

    3. depth

    4. time

  4. there are now 11 excepted dimensions. the fourth dimension is usually time, but the order doesn't have any significance.

  5. Dimension is simply the number of parameters you need mathematically to describe physical reality. Three is the one mwe normally use for the space we see around us, but if we add time to it, as Einstein did, we get four. Nowadays physicists believe that there are tiny "hidden" dimensions (let's say 6 more) that are hard to see with the "naked eye" but are important to describe the deeper reality of forces and particles.
