  1. No, there is no discount for this.  A seat is a seat.  As far as taking a car seat with you....you can, but you don't have to.  It does have to be one that is approved by the FAA for air travel, to actually use it on the plane.  If you will need one when you get to your destination, but it's not approved for air travel, then you can have it checked to your final destination.

  2. Nope........car seat........you will have to check it......may be a big cost.......cheaper to rent one...........

  3. 2 and under are free. and yess u can bring a carseat on some airlines

  4. Some airlines offer discounts for children flying with adults, but others charge the full adult fare for any passenger occupying a seat.  You will definitely want to check with the airline you're looking to fly with to see whether they offer a discount on children's tickets.

(Note that since he's three, you'll have to buy a ticket -- airlines will only allow children under the age of two to ride in an adult's lap.)

Whether you take a car seat is up to you, but note that the seat must be approved by the FAA for use in an airplane for you to be able to use it onboard.  If it's FAA-approved, it will be marked on the seat itself.
