I live with my girlfriend in Florence and have to go and come back from Rome 3 times a week for one year.

Is there any package I could buy to save money?

  1. I was trying to find out what is the price of an "abbonamento" (pass for more than one way) compared to the single ticket price on

    www.trenitalia.com

but they don't show the pass price.

Anyway, one way ticket from Firenze to Rome, without supplements (so if you catch the "normal" train not the fast one) costs 26,50 EUR one way. For sure there is the possibility of spending less. You may ask at the ticket counter of any train station when you get to Italy, how much is

    - "abbonamento settimanale" (weekly pass) and

    - "abbonamento mensile" (monthly pass)

then compare the prices with the daily return tickets (in Italy the price of a return ticket is exactly the price of two one ways. No discount)

The "abbonamento" has you name written on so you can't share one.

  2. yes, check out http://www.trenok.com/

This is kind of the low fare train.... it leaves roma Termini early in the morning and stops at Firenze 1 1/2 hr later... very fast and convenient....... try it!
