I am a cheerleader, and also a flyer. In order to compete I need to be flexable and I am not at all. I get stretched everyday but it like really hurts. Can someone help me to learn some tips? Or maybe even if this is a disease? Thank you! :)

  1. You don't have a disease (puh-LEASE!), you need to do more than cheerleader practice because it sounds like a) you are not as naturally flexible as some people, and b) your coach is letting you do the moves wrong time after time.  If after doing it for years, or even weeks, it STILL hurts, your technique is incorrect, and you could seriously hurt yourself.

Try yoga. I recommend a style called Bikram, which is done in a heated room.  Many dancers, gymnasts and runners practice this type of yoga, and it increases flexibility, stamina and balance.

    Good luck.

  2. yea it's a disease it's called.....

"i asked a very stupid question" disease

    ADD:

its called i dislike cheerleaders, even though i'm flexible and skinny enough to be one....

  3. There are diseases that will affect your muscles such as Parkinson type bodies.  However, it sounds as though you just need to persist at stretching more.  Don't panic, if you are a cheerleader you are obviously still flexible, maybe just not as much as the others.
