i just had to put my 9month old American bulldog asleep after a grueling couple of weeks from an unfortunate amount of problems and complications at such a young age. (heart disease, spinal cord disease, phemonomia, his back 2 legs got paralyzed in the matter of a week, ect.) he was suffering, and today we put him to sleep, it was the hardest thing ive ever done in my ENTIRE life.

does anyone believe that hes in heaven right now, jumping, playing, happy and healthy? id like to think so.

thanks for your help, please don't be mean, this subject is very sensitive to me

  1. I was looking though past questions and saw the one that I answered about your dog having so many problems and I was wondering what has happened with him.  I clicked on your name  and found this question, which broke my heart.

First of all, let me tell you how sorry I am for your loss.  I know what it's like to lose a beloved member of the family so my heart goes out to you.

I always believed that that all living creatures have souls and therefore, dogs have to go to Heaven.

I presume you know the story of The Rainbow Bridge, which is beautiful, though a real tear-jerker and I'm adding the link to it below.

Anyway, I decided to so some research since so many people say that there is no mention of animals in the Bible.  If that is so, then why is St. Francis called the Saint of Animals?

In my research, I also found a website that discusses this same question, and I'm giving you the link to that as well.  Some of the more interesting excerpts about dogs going to  Heaven follow and make me believe even more that dogs do go to Heaven.

    Here there are:

"First, animals were part of the original creation of God that was declared "good." The Garden of Eden was filled with animals (Genesis 1:25). Revelation tells us that heaven will contain many of the same things that were in the original creation, such as a river, trees, and fruit. Why not animals too? After all, animals are an integral part of earthly life and testify powerfully of the creative, imaginative genius of God. He created the giraffe, the camel, the platypus, the lion, the pachyderm, and the hummingbird. "

"Second, the Bible suggests from beginning to end that animals may have souls. In Genesis 1 20, 24, for instance, the Hebrew word nepesh is used to refer to animals. While this word can simply mean "creature" or "living thing," in the Old Testament it is often understood to mean "soul." And in Revelation 8:9, the Greek word psuche-which can mean heart, mind, or soul-is used about sea creatures."

"Third, in the Millennium, animals will be present in abundance. Isaiah paints the well-known picture of animal life in Christ's kingdom:

And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,

And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,

    And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;

And a little boy will lead them.

Also the cow and the bear will graze,

Their young will lie down together,

And the lion will eat straw like the ox.

The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,

And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den.

    (Isaiah 11:6-8)

Now, I'm not a religious person, but I do believe in God, Heaven and h**l, and I believe that animals, especially dogs, go to Heaven.

I apologize for the long answer.  I really only only wanted to tell you that I'm very sorry for your loss and give you some hope that you will see your baby again one day.  I don't think that  dog could have wished for someone to love him more than you did.

With  tears in my eyes for you, I send you my deepest condolences.

Unfortunately, wishful thinking doesn't make nonsense become real, though for some it does take the edge off especially painful life events.  I've also had to say goodbye to dogs, as well as people, and I find no comfort in imagining something that isn't real.

    Sorry for the reality check.

  3. yeah its where christians go

  4. I believe that when we die, human or animal, we cease to exist and go back to the dust, to sleep, to rest and await the resurrection back to life ( Ecc. 9:10 ). Not heaven, the spirit abode of The Eternal, but real life here, in perfect spirit bodies to live forever. Somehow, God is able to take that spirit component that we had, which goes back to Him upon our death and recreate us as we were before, only with spirit bodies. This having been said, and knowing how much God loves us, how hard would it be for Him to recreate our beloved pets and animal friends for our enjoyment? I look forward to seeing some of my long dead companions!  1 Corinthians 2:9 says that the surprises that await us are beyond our wildest dreams, and if I, a mere human, or you, grieve over pets that were a close part of our lives, and we can imagine seeing them again, how much more so a loving God?  Thanks for sharing!

  5. There is not a single biblical account of any animal being resurrection in Christian or pre- christian times. Simply put animals were not given the hope of everlasting life, only Humans.People become attached to their pets in a Big way and being God's creation they bring joy to so many people's lives, but when they gone they gone.

  6. They go to the same heaven as everyone else. I'm really sorry about your dog, but I've had to put a cat to sleep before and I know she's doing just fine.

  7. dogs dont have spirit so no

  8. Animals go to the same Heaven we do. They do not reincarnate but they do have souls and they do go onto the spirit form. Their is a book by Author and Psychic Sylvia Browne called "Animals On The Other Side"

it's a great book and very comforting. Your little guy is on the Other Side well and happy, and he's looking out for you!

  9. ((((Lyndsy S.))))

I'm soo sorry about your dog. My family dog died two years ago (he had to be put to sleep too) and I remember my Mom saying that he was chasing rabbits now. I truly believe that God has a special place in His heart for animals. Yes, I do believe that your dog is in Heaven. I'm be praying for you...
