Is there a dress code for Tavern on the Green?

I'll be in New York wandering all day in July, and I intend to have dinner there. Can I wear jeans or do I have to wear anything 'more elaborated'?

Just by looking at their website it looks like the type of place you wouldn't want to wear jeans. If you are going out, you should dress up anyway.

A few sites said they don't enforce a dress code, but 'neat attire' is requested.

I'm not completely sure about their dress code but I would strongly advise against wearing blue jeans. You can always just call ahead and ask. They don't mind people inquiring about such things. It would be much better than showing up in denim and standing out like a sore thumb. Or even worse, you may even be denied entry. Some upscale restaurants do not permit guests to wear denim.
