Is there a fire risk if the bottom of a cordless kettle is wet when I put it on the powerbase and turn it on?

I sometimes worry that there is a fire danger when water and electricity mix.

  1. The "power base" should be isolated from the kettle.  Many times a kettle will be wet when putting it back on the heater.  There shouldn't be any problem here at all.  Thinking of a coffee pot - the pot is often wet when it is put back on the heater.  Don't submerge the heater in water when cleaning it though, and if you do let it dry out thoroughly before plugging it back in.
