Is there a fish that doesn't need much maintenance like a goldfish and doesn't dirty the water?

if you are looking for one with hardly any maintance try a beta...i have had one for almost 4 months and i feed her once a day and that is alli have to do the tank doesn't need cleaned and you can let them live in about any form of water like in a flower vase with flowers in them**that is how my mother in law does hers

ALL fish require maintnence and dirty the water.

No matter what variety of fish you obtain, it will excrete waste.  This waste will pollute the water.  It is part of good fish ownership that the tank will be cleaned when it needs to be, that water will be changed, and that you will use all necessary equipment such as filters and water conditioner.  If you are unwilling to do these things, I do not recommend getting a pet fish at all.  While the link below refers to goldfish, many of the points are true for all fish.

If you want to keep the maintenance down, get a big tank, but only keep a few small fish in there. That way the tank can go much longer before it needs a water change.

A few White Cloud Minnows in a 20gal+ planted tank would need very little care. Maybe once a month clean and water changes, and take out the extra babies ;-)

you can try kissing gouramis or black mollies.

...If you can't handle normal maintenance of a pet you shouldn't get one. :\ All fish need special care.
