I am looking at going to Airline Transport Professionals for flight training taking the full Career pilot program with the private add on. I want to go there mainly for their regional carrier agreemnet program. I really don't want to spend $63K on it but i don't want to have to wait 5 years to get a job.

  1. idk

  2. whether you want to fly for the airlines, cargo operator or corporate company, or whatever. you will need a multi engine commercial certificate with instrument rating.. and thats gonna cost you.. plus most large operators want you to have a 4 year degree.. make sure to look into the degree requirement! it may or may not take you 5 years to get a job. it all depends on how much time you devote to training.. many larger schools like ATP offer some kind of "airline" training which basically consists of time spent in a simulator very similar to the ones used by regional airlines. 63k may be a little on the high side, but it includes all the certificates and ratings you will need to get a job minus the college degree.

there isnt really such a thing as a placement program.. these schools just get you everything you need to get a job.. its up to you to send out resumes and put on a show when you get an interview.. but with the way things are right now, going through some kind of "airline" training greatly increases you chances of getting a job faster..

  3. In order to get the job you have to pay and thats about it.

  4. Go through your local FBO or Some Colleges offer programs they will do it for much cheaper. Regionals right now are hiring tons of pilots with lower hours and qualifications.

  5. try the airforce...it's free
