Is there a formula for changing recipes to bake in a convection oven?

Is the temp. usually the same and how to you convert the time?

  1. Sage, I drop the temperature by 25 degrees. Time is usually about the same, but it depends on what you are baking. I keep a close eye on things that I bake. I don't use convection for cookies or brownies.

    Chickens brown beautifully on convection.

  2. Just reduce the cooking time.  It depends on what you're baking as to the length of time.  I find cakes are done about 8 min. faster and bread by about 10.  Cookies take about 8 min.

  3. I  have  never  had  my  pie crust  burn  when  baked  in  a  convection  oven.  I  really  like  baking  with  my  c/o.
