Is there a free Paint program for MAC?

Does anyone know of a good program that is comprable to microsoft paint but for MAC. I just switched to MAC and enjoyed how easy microsoft paint and paint.net were, and am looking for a program like that for free.

I'm not sure whether it's possible to run GNU/Linux applications on Mac, I know Mac OS is *nix based so maybe.  If so, there's a KDE programme called KolourPaint which is almost identical to MSPaint.  I know this because I searched desperately for a Paint replacement for my GNU/Linux system.
