For free, check out http://www.crimcheck.com , they have an extensive free public records section.

But since you would have to do the research yourself which can lead to missing out on information, I would recomend http://www.easybackgroundchecks.com , they offer statewide background checks for $15. They also offer nationwide background checks for $30

depends on the state. but, usually they all have something like an offender information website. i don't know about child custody stuff though unless it somehow resulted in criminal charges. go to the states official website and look for a link. if you were from michigan i could give you the exact site. good luck.

Depending on the state, you can access the public information that you are looking for.  In Florida, I use, either fdle.com or volusiacounty.org.   You have access to the crime, the time they spend in jail, and the current address of all pedophiles in your neighborhood.  Start your search!  Jen

Most states have free sites on s*x offenders & various other crimes.For other info you have to pay a small amount.I would think if you have the $$ it'd be worthwhile to check out.
