Is there a free way to find my old classmates from school?

I know there is some pay/subscription sites, but I am really looking for the 'exact' list of classmates I went to school with. I have looked at classmates.com and reunion.com and others but they are missing many people and are not accurate...

Isn't there a government site or place I can find the 'real' information from?

try contacting your old school or wait for a reunion

try your hometown newspaper for an online edition and then go back to the year you graduated.

contact your school, they'll have it and be able to send it to you or direct you to the school website.

www.classmates.com is pretty good too. You don't have to pay unless you want to email them through the site. It does require that they have signed up, in order to be listed.
