If not, is there one that at least makes you think of lightning or electricity when you see it?

  1.   In Tibetan tradition, they use the same word, VAJRA  for "Lightning bolt" as they use for "Diamond"  Check out Tibetan Buddhism or Vajrayana, for info.

Also Quartz crystal ,is used in electronics ,and will produce an electric spark under certain conditions (see piezoelectricity) this has led ancient and some modern ppl to regard it as magical.

  2. Tanzanite gets its name from the African country Tanzania, the only place in the world where it can be found. The natives of the region, Maasai tribesmen, have interesting legends in folklore talking of tanzanite's origin. One popular legend talks of a bolt of lightning striking the ground. The heat generated by the 'magical fire from the sky' transformed the pebbles on the ground into bluish violet gems.

The Hindus believed that Diamonds were created when bolts of lightning struck rocks. They even placed them in the eyes of some of their statues.

Malachite was admired by ancient Greek followers of the goddess Venus and thought to possess great powers. In Rome, it was called the “Peacock Stone” and dedicated to the goddess Juno, who protects against lightning and other perils of nature.

  3. No most gemstones are associated with months , birthdays, elements..  Have not heard one for lighting, however I would think Iron ore would be a good conductor.

  4. There is no gem associated with lightning, but there is a mineraloid that is.  The mineraloid is composed of melted and fused SiO2, or silicon oxide, and is called Lechatelierite.  If lightning strikes a quartz-rich sediment, it melts the quartz and fuses the material into hollow tubes called fulgarites.  Fulgarites are composed of Lechatelierite and form twig-like structures about the thickness of a lead pencil.

Flugarites are fairly common and often found after a sever thunder and lightning storm.
