Question:

Is there a glitch to every contract?

My mom rented a house and a cat has pretty much taken up residence here. The contract said we couldn't have any pets on the property or in the house. We've been feeding it. The cat looked like an abandoned cat. We said we would have it gone by last weekend but we couldn't find a home for it. A few days later we found a home for it. It was going to leave the next day. They are still mad. I don't think they're going to be happy until it is gone completly.

  1. Look at it from the owners side. I am an owner and I get mad as h**l, if somebody brings a pet into "MY HOUSE". It's mine and my rules. Pets stink, p**s and p**p and the next renter doesn't want that smells and blotches in the carpet and lawn.

Beside that, I love animals and that's why I believe, they should not be pets in the first place.

  2. What 'glitch' are you referring to?  If the contract says no pets, it means NO PETS.  That's pretty obvious to me.  They have a perfect right to complain, how you claim to have 'found' the cat is not important.  If you're feeding it, it's your problem.

You're very lucky they did not have you evicted for violating the lease.

  3. tell them the truth, if they are that callous when it comes to helping a living creature then they are truely evil.-blurey

  4. If the contract/lease specifically stating that pets are not allow...then that is the rule.  No glitch.
