  1. I think just painting them with wax (parafin) once they are shaped would work.

  2. I don't know but I think burning certain glues could be toxic.

  3. You don't need glue.  Soak the paper in water then form into whatever shape you want.  Squeeze as much water from the paper as you can.  Then set the paper out in the sun to dry.  Once dried, it will burn.

  4. HEY--BACK IN THE 50 S WE COULD NT AFFORD STORE BOUGHT GLUE---SO WE MADE OUR OWN---FLOUR AND WATER MIXTURE, MAKE IT AS WET AS YOU WANT  ROLL THE PAPER IN IT,,LET DRY TIL WINTER TIME,,,PRETTY STRONG STUFF---WE  USED IT TO MAKE OUR OWN KITES---WITH NEWS PAPER

  5. I save cardboard paper towel roll and toilet paper rolls. Just roll up the newspaper and punt it inside the rolls, makes a great fire starter for my fireplace.

  6. the ones you buy at the store are glued with corn starch,

like mr dirt says flour, wheat paste, the same stuff they use on wall paper.

if you want crackling logs add penut shells,
