predator ridge in vernon british colombia has 19 holes . the 19th is used in case players are tied at the end of a skins match , or whatever form of match they are having . it is the hardest hole on the course . many wallets have taking a pounding on this hole . if a green is down for repair this hole is used in the rotation . thank you

The regulation golf course is usually considered an 18 hole layout.  Several have 2 eighteen hole layouts, while very few have 3 to 5  eighteen hole courses.

Not exactly. 18 holes is the standard course. When you play, you always play 18 if you are playing one round. There are clubs and or courses with several 18 hole courses, or several 9 hole courses.

All of the above are correct in some form.  The Mission Hills facility in China has 12 courses, each with 18 holes, and is the largest golf course/country club in the world.

Answering your question a bit more directly, a 'regulation round' of golf is 18 holes.  A course can have as few as one and as many as you like.... but a 'round of golf' is always 18.
