  1. A good childrens book would be the David books. THere is one that is called David goes to school. The  name of the author is David Shannon. My neice and nephews really like his books.I would recommend these books to anyone.

  3. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein has always been my favorite children's book.  However, I'm not so sure what age group or length you're looking for.

  13. I've been a teacher's assistant for 22 years and there are so many wonderful books out that I don't know where to start, but I will try. My favorites are, Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, Are You My Mother, The Grouchy Ladybug and Is Your Mama a Llama. I know you only asked for one, but I do love reading to children.

  14. The Pigeon Books: "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" "Pigeon finds a Hot Dog" "Pigeon stays up Late" By Mo Willems.

    Those are my favorite books... but there are so many great children's books. Brown Bear, Giraffes Can't Dance, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom...   15. -We All Sing With The Same Voice (comes with a CD on Amazon.com).  Kids love it and will be singing to it after a while.

    I've read most of them and don't see anything on the list that I don't think should be there.

  25. Two of the best that I know for preschoolers are "Pat The Bunny" which is an interactive book where children "feel" the bunny, etc. - and  "Goodnight Moon"

  29. anything by eric carle; "mousepaint" for learning colors; "if you give a mouse a cookie"; "king bidgood's in the bathtub"; "the little mouse, the big hungry bear and the red ripe strawberry" (or something like that);  "chicka chick boom boom"; lots of others!

    All the classics like Charlottes Web, Cricket in Times Square etc
