  1. learn lider

    live lider

    love lider

  2. i just spent the summer in Chile as an exchange student. I only spent a short time in Santiago, but I loved it and I noticed that Jumbo has a great selection of foods imported from the US. Many of the restuarants also have "American" food, i.e. hamburgers, pizza, etc. However, from my experience there, eat as many empanadas, sopaipillas, and completos con palta. Also if you like gummy candy, try Frugele, it's available at Jumbo and I think you'll like it.

  3. I don't live in Santiago, I live in Lima but I've been 7 times to Santiago and everytime I've been grocery shopping in Lider, Jumbo and Carrefour, I've seen tons of imported american products, ranging from beauty products, canned food, sweets and desserts, even toilet paper. But the prices are very very high, what they do in Chile to protect national goods (which is something I approve to defend the national economy) is to price the imported goods quite high so that people will prefer national products. I've bought chilean products and let me tell you that they are quite good. But try Lider and Carrefour and Jumbo.

  4. Argentina, Chile and Uruguay are completely different from the rest of Latin America.

In this countries you won't find mariachis, quesadillas, tacos and enchiladas!!!

they are very european, their food is spanish and italian. anything you may need from USA, you'll find it with no problem.

  5. Hi Latisha, I live in Santiago. As they have already told you, you can find many imported things in Jumbo, Lider and many other stores. You will also find many USA restaurants here if you miss your food, like Fridays, pizza hut, burger king, mac, and many more.

    Greetings from Chile

    Ilike frugele also ;P
