Is there a good source or website for someone who wants to invest in stocks valued around 5 to 20 dollars?

I'm not talking about or interested in penny stocks which appear to be a big gamble and volatile in stability. I'm looking for relatively stable stocks that are on a legit stock market and at least 3 dollars, on average, in price per share all the way up to around 20 dollar a piece.

Is there a place on the web that covers this for free? Or a publication that caters to this niche market?

Also, does this type of low-cost stock have a nickname? For examples, There's "penny stock" and "blue chip stock" .

  1. ask here.  unbiasedstockanalysis.blogspot.com

  2. If you are willing to invest in stocks valued at $5 to $20, you will not need to have to worry about extra costs for "penny stocks."  There is only one website that currently offers free trading and that is Zecco, which offers 10 free trades a month.  However, I wouldn't really recommend them.  Their free trades deal requires that you deposit at least $2,500.  In addition, Zecco has been rated for having the worst research and customer service.  Their website is also very hard to use, definitely not for beginners.  I currently use Firstrade ( http://www.firstrade.com/ ).  They have no minimums, low commissions, excellent customer service, and an easy to use website.  You should definitely check them out.

  3. Try these:

    http://clearstation.com

    http://elitetrader.com

I find clearstation as a good portal to finding stocks to trade or invest. The members in that forum contribute with their own analysis and insights, plus you get tons of information, both fundamental and technical on almost all of the listed stocks.

    Hope this input helps!
