Is there a good way to rid Pachysandra*Pakasandra)?

Question

I was wondering besides pulling up the Pachysandra(Pakasandra) is there another way like a spray or soemthing to kill them off without damaging grass?

Reason why i ask is the house we are renting form a good friend has a now un-used sprinkler system buried and plastic so digging up is not really an options and pulling that stuff is a pain. So any way to kill itoff?
