  1. If it's cylinder-shaped bread, you need a good sharp serrated kinfe. Let the bread cool completely and stand the loaf on its end  ~ slice from top to bottom.

The other way is to just slice it crosswise into circles.

  2. I find that a good electric knife will slice my bread machine bread perfectly whether the bread is hot, warm or cold.

    Bert

  3. the electric knife and the bread cutting guide are the way to go for fresh bread...cutting cold bread is not the problem...it's when we're dying for a slice from a loaf that fresh and still warm...electric knife--get one

  4. My fiance's parents are constantly making fresh bread in the bread maker.  They use a serated bread knife to cut, but they also found this bread slicing guide on Ebay that helps you to cut the slices evenly without risking cutting yourself.  It's a pretty neat and useful little thing.  I do not know an exact name for it, but it is white in color, and has a bunch of slots in it for you to slide the knife through.  It also helps you not to smash the bread while cutting it.

  5. Use a good sharp, serrated bread knife.  Hold the loaf in your non dominant hand and cut with your dominant.  Place knife on top of the bread and move gently back and forth, putting no more pressure than the weight of the knife on the bread.   When you get to the bottom, drag the knife all the way back toward yourself and out of the bread.

  6. use a sharp cerrated long knife ( its all in the knife )

aka bread kinfe - buy one if you dont have one ( inexpensive ) and last a long time.

  7. Take a bread knife and cut it into slices like regular bread.  I make bread in the machine all of the time.

  8. I use an electric knife.  I find I can cut it while it's still hot and it doesn't stick, where a regular bread knife sticks unless I wait for the bread to cool.  They sell cutting guides for bread but I prefer not to use them.  With practice, one can cut even, straight slices, especially with an electric knife.

  9. A sharp knife specifically made for slicing bread. Start by allowing the bread to cool and then place on a cutting board and slice on an angle for the cut is better also, but straight across cuts work good too.
