  1. I agree with the first poster here- 'The Unofficial Guide" has a great guide for you to use to ride everything in one day. Have a wonderful time!

  2. The best way we found to use your "fastpass" is when you first enter the park, go to the ride you want to ride second and get the "fastpass" ticket and then go to the first ride you want to go on.  Then, by the time you get off the first ride it will be about time to get on the ride you have your "fastpass" for.  When we first used the "fastpass" system, we thought you could just run all over the park and get all the fast passes and then start riding but that is not how it works.  Disney has that strategy stopped by preventing you from being able to get more than one "fastpass" at a time.  When you get a "fastpass" it will show a time for you to return for the ride - usually about 1 to 1 1/2 hours later.  So, go get your "fastpass" and then go ride/do something else till your time is near.  After you use your "fastpass" then you can go get another at another ride and repeat the strategy again.  "Fastpass" is still the best way to do the parks !   You will quickly learn how it works - have a good time!

  3. Try to find the book "The unofficial guide to Disneyland" by Bob Sehlinger. It gives step by step instructions on how to best use the fastpass system. Have fun!

  4. Ok...to minimize waiting/walking time go to RideMax.com and buy a subscription for their software. If you're spending a lot of money going to Disneyland, believe me it's worth it. First time I used it it felt like everyone around me was going to the rides with long lines while I had minimal waits. It works very well and I think it's the best thing for what you're asking.
