I cannot pay the past due amount and current due all at once. So I have to split in two. So until then my car can still be repossesed. So I wanted know how they track your car down to take it. Because. When I purchased the agreement I was still living with my parents.

  1. If you purchased a GM car such as a Chevy, Buick, Olds, Pontiac etc. and it came equipped with Northstar, yes it has GPS and they can find it for the repo man though I do not know the legalities of this action.  If you purchased any other brand and they did not offer the same type of service a Northstar then they don't have GPS and is up to the repomen to locate the vehicle by way of registration, work or school.  Best thing to do is pay if off or turn it back in to the dealer.  Your credit is already screwed since you haven't made payments on time, but turning it in before it is repoed is better.

  2. you need to figure out how to disconnect the GPS!  That is how they found our car, and repoed it when my husband got laid off

They will track it, and don't drive it to work either b/c they will pick it up while you are working

  3. hide it....not kiding, if they show up, "someones borowing it", just dont let them take it......as far as the gps, yes i believe cars after '98 are built with gps tracking systems just for the government and privite interests, but you wont know. what kind of car do you have and i will find out how to remove it...

  4. Some cars have a GPS but yours probably doesn't. They will just go to where you are living and take it.
