Yes there is a way. Since, chess is intellectual which means that it is a game in which you have to think a lot you should focus and concentrate on every move the opponent is making and think as many ways to give a check mate.

Play against someone with far less skill than you...preferably a five year old.

Some claim that international chess masters have discovered the optimum strategy in chess, which is why they can either play to win or play to stalemate at will so very often.

But for us mere mortals chess remains an art and not a science.
