  1. Reddish will work, but generally with hair color, if it is darker pigment that your current shade, it will cover it. You can do a strand test to anticipate the results ahead of time, to avoid doing your whole head and not liking the results. If you really want it lighter, you can use some ten foil to put in a few highlights, just get some bleach at the beauty supply store, like Sallies beauty supply, and then you may also want to get a toner to go over the bleached sections so that you can remove brassiness.

  2. This is a really bad idea!I no u dnt wanna hear this but DNT dye it blonde!the only way you cld do it wld be to use bleach but it wld ruin you're hair and it wld go GREEN! Id leave it for a few weeks and then try permanent dark brown and build up the colour gradually!Buy a good hair treatment, hope this helps

  3. i also have dark brown hair but mine's natural... i've had trouble dying it. if you want to do any unnatural colors (blue pink green, etc.) then you probably have to bleach it first. if you want to go blonde it's probably the same thing, you'll want to bleach it then dye it blonde, or light brown. if your hair is naturally the color you want it, then mineral oil should help remove hair dye, but be careful because it's messy.

    Good Luck

  4. GO TO 99 CENTS STORE BLOND TWICE IN A WEEK AND HALF

  5. use a shade lighter than what you have like honey brown....try loreal for brunettes...it really works...if long hair buy two dyes.

  6. NO THEIR IS NO WAY YOU CAN PUT A LIGHT DYE OVER A DARK DYE

YOU NEED TO GET A PROFESSIONAL TO DO IT..DONT DO IT ON YOUR OWN

  7. No, you cannot "dye" your hair lighter. You have to strip the dark color out or lightening it will not work. Wait until you have money and get it done correctly because you are only going to end up in the salon getting it fixed when it turns out disastrous. You can't dye over black to get it lighter it is impossible.(even with those dyes that claim to lighten dark hair) You either have to bleach it or strip it and put the lighter color back in. Seriously,  just wait and get it done right.

  8. I had black hair and I used Schwatzkopf Platinum blonde to turn my hair orange and bright blonde at the roots.

I then covered it  2 days later with  a lighter brown, it worked but my hair was VERY dry, i used a lot of conditioner to add softness.

Its very damaging though. But It worked.

  9. Here's what I would do, personally...

I'd use Color Oops to strip the black out of my hair, and then dye it light brown. Color Oops is NOT bleach, and it's not damaging.

Or I'd use an Ultra-Lift brown. Feria, Garnier and Loreal Preference all have ultra-lift browns. Garnier calls them "Nutri-Browns." If you're using L'Oreal Preference, look for a color that starts with "UL."

Black is hard to lift out... but I've done it before. Good luck!

  10. Well you could try to bleach it first and then you would have a clean palate.
