I would assume there would have to be serve the nation's estimated population of 48. If not does New Zealand or some other nation provide a helicopter service to them so they can be transported to a hospital in other nation?

  1. No. There is a medical facility and a resident doctor, but no hospital. The nearest hospital facilities are in French Polynesia or New Zealand, at least four days sail away.

  2. Pitcairn is over 3,350 miles from New Zealand.  No helicopter in the world has this range - getting one there and back would require repeated aerial refueling.

and sea landings are notoriously unreliable.

One serious search and rescue seaplane has a range of 2500 miles
