Is there a large medical hospital or medical school in Tegucigalpa?

I am considering doing some volunteer medical work in Honduras next winter.

  1. There are several hospitals in Tegus. I think the majority of the larger ones are government hospitals. The other larger one I can think of is called Honduras Medical Center. There are lots of smaller clinics in the city as well that I'm sure would be more than happy to use you as a volunteer.

    I think that most of the people who study medicine, biology, nursing, etc in Honduras do so through UNAH, the national university located in Tegus.

    There is a hospital in the town of Siguatepeque that has several volunteers from the US, UK, Austrailia, etc in and out throughout the year. It's called Hospital Evangelico.
