Is there a large picture quality differnece of 1080i and 1080p?

  1. I don't think there is any quality difference, I just think that the 1080p is basicallyfor using blu ray so if you are planning on using blu ray then go for the 1080p


  2. Not really - fast action might be a little better on 1080p.

  3. 1080i is interlaced scanned, 1080p is progressive scanned

    If the HDTV can do 1080p there is a big difference. The next generation is going to be 1440p. 1080i takes 2 frames to create 1080 lines. 1080p does it in one frame.

    And an HDMI connector is the only source for a 1080i or 1080p signal

  4. televison channels will only broadcast in up to 1080i resolution. the only way to achieve 1080p is with a blu ray player and hdmi cables. so there is not much of a difference between the 2
