  1. That depends... call the police, they will tell you.

  2. I am not a lawyer but there are many laws that will not let anyone even stop on the interstate in heavy traveled areas; this is often posted along the interested to only stop in case of emergency. This would be a legal notice of laws passed for the safety of all... if people stop they cause a danger of a multiple car crash. There are also right of ways with every road way for accesses to utilities and further expansion. Local laws also might consider this vagrancy, the older laws required a certain sum of money to be had on hand etc. Who knows what is still on the books? If you consider homesteaders or squatters rights then possession must be continuous for a required time usually 20 years. Before the time was up sure car would be towed! So with these things going on if there is no law against it per say the other laws should all circumvent the possibility.

  3. The laws in most states say that you cannot at any time leave a vehicle on the side or the medium of any interstate for any reason at all.

  4. there are lots of weird laws in pa and nj.

in PA If you are driving on a country road at night you must stop every mile and send up a rocket signal, wait ten minutes for the road to be cleared of livestock, and continue.

IN NJ all motorists must honk before passing another car, bicyclist, skater, and even a skateboarder.
