I have heard that children up to a certain age can use the pavements for cycling.

I have also been told that it is technically illegal to use a pram on the pavement, is this true?

  1. A bike never.

Pram...get real, I'm glad you are still on a bike.

  2. it is against the law ,for adults to ride a bike on the pavement,

  3. You can legally never ride a bike on the pavement.

  4. Not sure about the bikes but a pram is legally allowed on a pavement.

the reason I know this is because my husband is a road worker and if they are working on a pavement and  need to make a temporary pavement  for pedestrians, with barriers it must be at least the width of a double buggy

  5. Riding a bike on the pavement is illegal.  A perambulator on the pavement is legal.  A small child riding a bike or trike under the supervision of an adult on foot counts as a perambulator.

  6. It is against the law to ride a bike on the pavement, they do this so that cars parked on them will not get scratched...

  7. no one despite their age is legally allowed to ride their bike on the pavement.

Even though i do cos the roads are just too dangerous sometimes! if a policeman stops me i just tell him that! :)

  8. Bikes probly but i still ride on the pavement cos i have a paper round so i have to use the pavement. But PRAMS! It's insane to make them go on the road

  9. Apparently riding a bike on the pavement is illegal whatever age you are, although you probably wouldn't get prosecuted.  In Britain it is still illegal to push a pram on the pavement. This law dates back to the days when a pram was considered to be classed as a road vehicle, and has never been taken off the statute books.  However, Oliver Cromwell banned Christmas and all the things that go along with that (including mince pies etc), and the law has never officially been recinded!

  10. I seem to remember from my theory test that you can get charged £500 for cycling on the pavement or for 'dangerous cycling', these boy racers tut tut
