  1. It depends on owners decisions.

    99.9% OK for 4 people.

  2. Of course ! I would say your chances are just about zero. Try the Philippines for that.

  3. I really doubt it. I have a friend ( Japanese ) in Tokyo. He had a friend staying with him. His landlord found out and he was evicted.

Highly unlikely any landlord will allow four people in one room.

It's hard enough to find a place that will rent to non-Japanese.

  4. It depends rent owner's allowance. Foreigners living in apartment in Tokyo often  tend to be troublemaker because they make nuisance like making noise, bad smell  and/or  don't follow rule in public manner.

Some owners may accept with extra pay but some won't. It is their option and not your option.

  5. I don't think it has anything to do with how much allowance the owner gets every month.

You might be able to if you keep it secret and live like fugitives, making as little noise as you possibly can.

  6. Of course there's a limit. And having four people in a one bedroom place is not a good idea. No landlord in Japan is going to allow that.

  7. It depends on the owner, and the number of occupants is usually stated in the contract.

Generally speaking, I don't think landlords will like having more than 2 people in a one-room apartment.
