  1. Yes and no. Most universities will only give you financial aid like the pell grant if you have less than 175% of your credits required for graduation. For example, at my university you can get up to 224 credits before fin aid is cut off, where 128 is required for graduation.

    But even then, there is usually an appeals process.


  2. They usually don't cut you off unless they see that you are taking a lot of useless classes.
