Is there a list online with all the Greek festivals (Panayieries?)?

There must be a list somewhere of all the panayieries around Greece - I always seem to miss them! I suppose it's a matter of knowing which church or saint represents which town/village. Internet is such a helpful source - there MUST be a list somwhere with dates/ saints/ places etc

Thanks

  1. I've found the one linked below (the second link has the sardine festival) which has festivals from all parts of Greece and not just some of them.  By no means is this one complete either as I could not find the festivals I was looking for...

  2. Dear Asimenia, if you know Greek then the following might be helpful:

    http://www.opencalendar.gr/portal/ocsm/t...

Of course the list in that site is not complete.

  3. I will miss the sardine fest this year and the gorgona assembly!! I could just cry!! I'll only visit for the stupid ktimatologio and I hope I'll find the time to pay a visit to you. Regards from Athens.Yia sou.

  4. Local panygiria are usually in the period after Easter and through the summer. For those you have to know the Greek Orthodox calendar and the dates Saints are celebrated. The places where those fiests are held are a purely local affair and most of the times are organized by the locals for the locals. So is the sardine fiest you have in Preveza.

Most known are Agias Paraskevis, Agiou Panteleimona, Sotiros, Agias Marinas, Panagias and again on the following week.

All you have to know is where each of those fiests are celebrated in.
