  1. Ha! Because they stole it all during wars a few centuries ago. Spain is far from a superpower now though.

  2. Unknown [to me]. If so, probably because of the legend of El Dorado. or they just were good at fighting.

  3. No

If there were, why would they have stolen so much from the Native Americans?

    Read a book

  4. Not particularly.  Felipe II had to pay all his war debts to other countries from the New World loot they had accumulated.  There is a little gold in the Cathedrals, but the best Gold in Spain is the sunshine.

  5. Sure, they stole it from the natives in South America (mostly).

Go to Sevilla, to the Cathedral.   There's this HUUUUUUGE raredos at the main altar, compeletely covered in gold leaf.  Yup.  It's the real thing.  ALL from the Inca treasures.

They have a lot of gold, because, during the "Siglos de Oro", the GOLDEN AGE, they took it from the New World, and claimed it for the crown.  That's the way things were done in those days...ever see the Disney movie Pocohantas?  Remember how the nasty English Captain was looking for gold?  It was because of all the gold the Spanish had found.

(I have no idea how historically correct the rest of that is, but the fact about the Spanish influencing the English, yeah - that is historical...don't go by much in that movie, though...it's pretty bad for historical fiction...know?)

  6. idk, in the ground. But above yup. Spain is a golden thought. Spain stole it

  7. alright, so there is very little gold in spain because out of all the atoms in the world, .005% or them are gold atoms, however, spain does have more gold in it than most other countries. also, spain HAS gold because they took it from the americas when they discovered the new world.

  8. Do you mean gold, or gold-mining?  The Romans used to mine gold in northern Spain.  But much of the gold currently in Spain, for example in churches and palaces, was brought back after the Spanish invaded the Americas.
