I have about 2000 pictures and negatives of Steam Engines, Train Engines, Depots, and Circus Cars that my grandfather took from the late 1800 to 1967 both pictures and negatives

  1. Yes.  People do collect them.  If you can pick up a copy of "Trains" magazine at your local Barnes & Noble bookstore, you'll see lots of ads, both from folks selling them and from folks buying collections.  You might also take a look through the ebay auctions.

You won't get a fortune for them, but they are worth something--particularly the earlier and more unusual pictures.

  3. Wow, that sounds like quite a collection.

I know there are probably lots of outlets, the one I can think of at the moment is eBay.

If you look in the rail section there you will be amazed at how much old photos are for sale and in demand.

    Good luck with it.

  4. Yes, many train buffs would love to buy them. You can sell them on Ebay, or ask a price for the whole collection. Email me if you come up with a price. I'm interested. GremlingtsATyahoo.com
