  1. For many persons exposure and response prevention is useful, and could reduce the problem. Exposure must be repeated several times.

Cognitive behavourial therapy might help identifying and accepting thoughts, and is useful to discuss the automatic interpretation of exposure.

Pharmacologic treatment with SSRI and Klomipramin (Anafranil) is documented with effect. It is most useful with concurrent psychologic treatment.

  2. i am not a doctor but fluxotine is very good for reducing OCD symptoms. CBT is very good as well if you want to use both treatments together.

Fluoxetine is an approved treatment of clinical depression (including pediatric depression), obsessive-compulsive disorder. I have used it before and i found it most beneficial. I think  you should try out CBT theory if you have not already been research it.

Recently in the press it has been getting good reviews.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy based on cognition's, assumptions, beliefs, and behaviors. I found from my condition that my beliefs system wasn't structured properly and i would jump to very strange conclusions. People with OCD and anxiety seem to think of Catastrophe's in normal everday life. For example what one person would think is minor another with OCD or anxiety would think was the end of the world. I hope this helpful if you would like more information just ask my email is visible

  3. Finding the right psychiatric drug is a process of trial and error. OCD tends to respond well to antidepressant drugs. Luvox (fluvoxamine) is usually the first one tried.

Psych drugs aren't so much 'tailored'. OCD is treated as an anxiety disorder, and finding the 'best' treatment will be a process of trial and error, and may take a few months before you find relief from your symptoms with side effects you can tolerate. Work with your psychiatrist, and good luck.

  4. I have good news for you my friend, infact Yes. People with OCD may worry about too many things, for example, Dirt and germs which effect them in washing their hands many times in the day.
