  1. Hi, welcome!  There is not a metro station but there is a train station (RER).  From CDG Terminal follow the signs to the "Gare", then once in the Gare follow signs to "Paris by train", then buy a ticket at one of the blue SNCF machines (8.20 euros and they take credit cards), then get on a train!  They leave every 5-10 minutes.  At night they leave less often.  Depending on when you clear customs/immigration!  You will most likely be done at 12:15am (about 20-30 minutes to clear immigration).  Then get to the train station quickly!  Usually they leave from Voie 11/12/13... But no worries if you don't make it...

But, you also check as easily take a taxi (will be around 50 euros though).

BUT I'm a guy and am a bit large too so am never worried about the black people on the trains as you pass through the banlieue.  Also, they are very nice usually if a bit like over-exaggerated wanna-be hip-hop artists.  But it depends on whether you are confident and do not mind black people.

    Bon courage

  2. Air France also has buses called Les Cars. (You dont' have to fly Air France to take these buses). They are safe and leave you in the opera or Invalides (which are safe) and you can grab a cab easily.

  3. There is but as said above, take a taxi or a shuttle van going directly to your hotel.

While Paris is generally safer than many other capitals better not tempt fate. RER stops at big multilevel train stations and those are not places where you want to be at midnight.

  4. Your actual problem will be that the last RER train leaves at 12:40 PM. Given the time it can take to retrieve your luggage and clear both customs and passport control you are likely to have missed the last train.

And while travel within the city of Paris is quite safe there have been some difficulties with the RER which travels thru the suburbs which is where all the crime in the Paris region occurs.

You would be well advised to arrange for a shuttle van which will take you directly to your hotel and which is cheaper than a taxi. here is a website for one such shuttle van service: http://www.parishuttle.com/

  5. Well, sort of. It's actually called the RER, but it is a large scale metro, which just goes that bit further than the metro proper. It links into the metro once you get into Town. By and large, it's safe enough, but at that time of night, if you're a woman on her own, with baggage, and you don't know your way around, I'd consider a taxi.

  6. There's the RER

If you're alone, I would consider a taxi, just to be on the safe side.

Paris is absolutely beautiful, hope you have fun!
