Is there a military or boarding school for my son?

My son is doing terrible in public school. He is in 8th grade and he is classified. He is not stupid, but he is very lazy. He just doesn't seem to get his work done w/o a foot up his backside and alot of times not even then even though he is quite capable.. I thought a tough, discipline centered school could be the answer. I would like one in the northeast of the US. Anybody have any thoughts?

  1. There are several good military acadmies. Here is a sight that will tell you of some by zip code.

Additionally I would recomend military school because of the fact that it will prepare him if he decided to join the military he would get a look at that type of structure. It also would give him a pay advancement if he decided to go that route

  2. Yes ............ it called IRAQ

  3. Show him what will happen if he does not get his act together.  Volunteer at a shelter.

Take away the iPod and the Video Games.

Invite some of his peers over.  He needs a good example for modeling behavior.

Military School is not the answer.  That is external motivation.

Get him into sports.  His grades must stay up if he wants to keep playing.
