Looking to stay in Quebec for a couple days with some friends, it's just going to be three of us and we're all 17. We were hoping to go to New York, but everything I've found says the age requirement is 18. Anybody know of an age requirement to stay at a youth hostel in Canada, if there is one and if so what it is?

  1. No, 17 is the sufficient age.  I think the age is 16 years old.

When I was 17 I stayed in the hostel in Quebec city (on urselles street) and also in montreal....the ones I stayed in were all Hostelling International.

I also traveled to the hostel in NYC on amstrerdam street when I was 17.....

So the simple answer is you will be able to stay there, no problem......even buy wine and beer if you are into that....Quebec is a lenient province.
