  1. Depends on your bank. Mine is no. But you have to watch out, if you charge something for 20 dollars and you only have 19 dollars, some banks offer a choice of going ahead and letting the amount go through and then they wack you will an overcharge fee-usually 30-40 dollars.

  2. ALL I HAVE IS A MINIMUM TO OPEN WHICH $25 OTHER THAN THAT NO MY ACCOUNT CAN REACH $0.

BUT I PLAN TO KEEP IT ABOVE $350.

  3. If you are purchasing online.  I would put $5.00 more to cover pre-authorization.   Some banks hate it, if you zero out your account.  Some will even closes your account.  If bank charges you a monthly fee for your account,  always keep enough plus $1.00 to cover that.

  4. Every bank is different. As for me, no.

  5. to do what?  To make a purchase?  If so, the minimum you would have to have would be the amount that you want to charge.

  6. Your debit card is usually linked to your checking account.  Depending on the bank rules and which type of checking account you have, you may or may not be required to have a minimum balance in that bank account.

For example, when I opened my old checking account long ago, I was told I need to have direct deposit from work go directly into it, or else I'd need to have a minimum of $1,000 a month to keep it free.  I've changed since then, but... you get the picture.

Call your bank to find out.
