Is there a more affordable hot water baseboard heating alternative?

The pipes are in place for hotwater baseboard heaters, but I was wondering if there was a more economical way to replace the base boards other than the conventional (expensive ) copper piped ones? Thanks for your time, and any help you may have to offer.
