Is there a name for a condition where you think so much, that your thoughts go beyond control, and get pressure pushing down on your head (making you feel trapped)?

And if so, how do you get rid of it?

I myself try to keep a strong mind and try to calm down.

  1. I strongly agree with Lucyy,

    That website is amazing

It helps you do just what the name says

  2. bi-polar and medication.

  3. A condition called ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder) can cause you to not be able to concentrate on one subject for long enough to evaluate it before jumping to the next.  There is also a condition called Mania.  In this scenario a persons mind is moving so fast that sometimes they can't catch up mentally with themselves so to speak.  (this is often accompanied by periods of extreme lows Known as Depressions, but not always.. That condition would be called Maniac-Depressive) the Trapped feeling may be caused by Anxiety.  these cases are very often related. Check out these sources!

Also try and monitor yourself.. see if you can figure out if any one thing triggers this hyper-tension

  4. Go see your doctor if its been going on for a while

A good way to stop thoughts racing is to concentrate on your breathing

Try taking a deep breath ... count to three...and breath out

Think of something that makes you happy

  5. Racing and uncontrolled thoughts are a symptom of many psychiatric disorders, such as anxiety, depression, obsessive/compulsive disorder, mania (bipolar used to mean known as manic-depression), and some aspects of schizophrenia.  To be sure what your problem is, you should go to a psychiatrist or psychologist.  A psychiatrist recommends medication most of the time.  A psychologist provides psychotherapy.  For some methods used for controlling this problem, see my bog on Yahoo concerning meditation, exercise, and general methods for mental health by looking at my profile.  For more guidance, see a psychiatrist or psychotherapist.  May you find peace!

  6. exaggerating??

  7. Sounds to me like stress.

I know how it feels, ha ha.  I had it earlier again today.  Everything is like going wrong and your thinking about too many things at once.  For me I get a headache and I suddenly feel tired and my muscles ache and the deep inside of my ear feels like someone stabbed it.  What I do is I cancel as many activities that I have later as possible, lie in my bed, and just think until I fall asleep.  But thats kind of hard to do when your at school/work in the morning or mid-day.  What I do then is I think about the important things and only after I've solved it the best I can, do I worry about the little things.  And remember that saying, "Don't sweat the small stuff"?  Forget about what you need to make for supper, worry about it later, first solve the fact that the assignment/documents need to be in at a certain time.  Make a timetable showing what time things need to be done and make some time for yourself to solve your "problems".  Stress is normally caused when your life needs organization.

    Hope everything works out!
