Is there a name for people who don't eat dairy, but have occasional meat?

I was just thinking. There's vegetarian for no meat, and vegan for no meat and dairy, but... what if you think meat is ok (like healthy animals raised on farms and some fish and so on... you know, occasional healthy meat) but NOT dairy? Is there even a term for people who don't eat dairy?

I mean, not lactose intolerant - they CHOOSE not to have dairy.

  1. They eat flesh, they are meat eaters. Some people will disagree with my view but somebody who eats meat is not a vegetarian

  2. That would make you a picky eater and very naive.

  3. No, there's no name for that.

  4. if you eat meat you are not a vegetarian--flat out--you are an omnivore--you eat veggies and meat--you just leave out dairy--usually people who choose not to have dairy (unless they are lactose intolerant) are already not having meat since meat eating is the most intense way of consuming animal products--

It sounds like you just don't like dairy products--so there it is--you are just not into cheese and milk--

If you are doing it for ethical reasons then I sort of don't get it--becasue--meat eating is way more offensive and harmful--

  5. idiots

  6. A non dairy eater?   I don't know.  It's not related to vegetarianism in any way though...obviously.

  7. Not really. Most people who don't see dairy as ok aren't likely to see meat as ok, especially given that milking an animal actually helps the animal. This isn't to say there aren't any, just that there isn't a specific name.

  8. Nope. You should just say, "I don't eat dairy."

By the way, since I know you're probably going to get a lot of negative feedback about not being even remotely vegetarian, etc, I thought I'd just congratulate you for being picky about what kinds of meat you eat. Positively contributing to ethical and environmentally-friendly businesses is an awesome thing to do. Way to go.

  9. No. I don't understand why there has to be a label for everything. Just tell people you don't eat dairy. :/

  10. i don't think so, by the way, i just had to point this out, vegans do not eat anything that comes from any animal, including eggs, honey, etc.
