The kind that is bumpy and textured. Is that an older style? The kind you might find on the wall at an old, expensive house. Thanks for any help!

  1. That 'bumpy texture' is commonly refered to as a 'orange peel', if your wall has a 'bumpy' appearence as well as having flat spots that is a 'knock down' texture. Both are sprayed on usin a hopper attached to a air compressor at low psi.

  2. more than 20 yrs ago my mother painted a wall in my bedroom with stucco paint. It was also all over my grandparents house. ouch! Thats all I remember about that!

  3. Artex is the word you are looking for I think.

  4. Sand finish plaster.

  5. On the ceiling they called it popcorn, on the wall, usually just textured walls, if you're contemplating removing some, take care, because in some of your older homes, they actually use asbestos for texture.
