Is there a name for the energy powered by methane gas emitted by trash in landfills? Or something like that?

I am not sure if it's methane... but it's definitely some sort of gas released by garbage in landfills.

  1. It is not a problem as there are also many other producers of methane .. If U try to measure it U will only find a trace.. What have the environmentalist done to it..


  2. Yes, it's methane.

  3. The combustible gas is predominantly methane.. with some CO2 too. it is released as a result of decaying of organic matter (composting).. and commonly called "Marsh Gas".

    This gas can be collected and used to power electricity generators.. as it is... or, after filtering out CO2 etal.

  4. Yes it is methane and  the process is called  COMPOST
