  1. Navratan

  2. Ummm, nasty?

  3. hmm never heard of it.

sounds to me like a restaurant invention not a trad home cooked meal. (apologies if im wrong)

Most indian vegetable curries are called 'sabji's' and then depending on what they have in them -

carrots and potatoes and peas - gajara vali sabji

    coliflour - gobi vali sabji

    spinich - saag

etc sorry cant be of much help. what vegetables were used and what fruit? i have never heard of fruit and veg in a curry though.

  4. Sounds like a variation to a Kerala (south indian) dish they mostly eat veg curries

Navratan Korma is the name of a dish which is very similar however it lacks the almonds also a lot of these dishes are made with Pineapple (but then that could be a substitute for fruit)

  5. The combination of almonds, coconut and fruit is usually Kashmiri it can be with veg or meats /chicken.

the strength is usually mild to medium depending on yoghurt content if it is nild it is a korma base and if not yoghurt based it is prob just described as Kashmiri vegetable.

Sounds lovely .. with a peshwari Naan bresd??? Yummy!

  6. It sounds like a typical Goan curry, coconut is not used in Kashmiri cuisine.  It's delicious!
