  1. You have received wonderful advice from other folks.  The only thing I can add to their advice is that cinnamon is a wonderful spice to fight against diabetes.  If you do not eat enough foods that you add cinnamon too you can purchase cinnamon capsules.   This will only help the fight; diet and the elimination of "white" foods is top of the chart.

  2. This is not something you mess around with easily, and make sure your doctor knows what you are doing, however that being said you can try:

    Chromium Picolinate

    Fish Oil

and some whole food products that have an effect on diabetes and insulin resistance like Acai Berries

    Eat:

7 to 8lots of fresh vegetables,

4 to 6 servings of good quality protein (whey concentrate, meats, cheese, soft cheese, eggs etc.),

3 to 4 servings of oils (olive, grapeseed, coconut),

3 to 4 servings of fruits,

1 to 2 servings of wholegrains

IN THAT ORDER OF IMPORTANCE PER DAY

and NO white stuff at all!

White stuff? anything made of white flour, or white rice, sugar, pasta, etc..

and last but by no means least: Exercise daily for at least 30 mintues (walk, swim,  use a vibration platform, join a fitness center, move your body, etc..

This is just information not advice so please let your doctor know what you are doing, so that he can monitor the insulin levels carefully.

  3. the doc isn't just going to ignore a patient when the express concerns about taking certain medicines. have him talk to his doctor about non pill treatments. but of corse this all depends on the reason why your dad dosn't like taking the pills, side effects, trouble taking pills, thats understandable.

fear of of modern medicine(taking drugs) is childish and if thats the case id tell him to grow up and act his age.

but if its because of the routine i would highly doubt just replacing one routine for another will help any.

  4. My Mom got diabetes, and she did natural treatment. She completely changed her life. She started excercising, gradually working up to more, each week. She started out once around the block, and worked to twice. She changed how she ate. She cut out sugar. She got a nutritionist and measured her food to get everything that was important into her diet. She lost 120 lbs, and got rid of the diabetes. It was a long process, about a year and a half.

It takes dedication, and a desire to want to change.

  5. Na-Rala will drop your blood sugar 30 points in an hour.

  6. Cayenne is very good for regulating insuline production.

Coffee is also a natural remedy for diabetics- Nothing will cure it, but you can find stuff to help.

    I would definitely google this.

  7. Yes diabetes can eventually go away regardless of what other people say. I have a few friends that have reversed it completely. I know chromium is really good and I get it at www.mynsp.com/naturespalace that is if his body can't produce insulin and the can't regulate the sugar levels. If it is something else email me and I can find something else for him. I am a trained herbalist and I work with a Natural Doctor he has a Masters Degree in it and has been practicing for over 10 years also. My email address is naturespalace@embarqmail.com

  8. There are quite a few articles and films on the net about reversing diabetics through a Raw Vegan diet, here are links to one such film:

  9. If your Dad has Type 2 diabetes he may want to look into a natural supplement that is made out of Mulberry leaves.  It is called Mulberry Zuccarin.  Mulberry leaves have been used in Japan to treat diabetes for years.  The only problem with this product is that he will have to take it about 15 minutes before each meal.

Do not bother getting mulberry tea it is not strong enough for diabetes.
