I am entering my third year studying architecture and am thinking about picking up a math minor. I enjoy the structures classes and am looking forward to taking materials classes. I enjoy designing but am curious if there is a large need for an architect with some background in math enjoys the structural aspect of architecture.

  1. Yea!  You should study the math AND learn how to script in Rhino and Maya.  Increasingly, architects who have this particular triumvirate of skills (mathematics, scripting, and an passion for structures) are in demand by cutting edge firms.

    Good luck!
