Question:

Is there a new career in acting after 40?

I'm approaching 40 and have loved acting for a long time but have never gotten into it. Am I starting too late? Is there a key to success after 40? Do you have any examples?

Thanks so much.

  1. Acting's never too late! However as with anything, experience/background are equally essential but talent and enthusiasm are certainly critical. You can of course register with acting classes and if you realise your acting talent or potential definitely register with an agent. Don't expect overnight success, which is why people lacking experience in acting withdraw so easily because it does take quite a while to qualify as a professional. Talent is above all recommended to professionally pursue a career. Examples? Oh yes- Harrison Ford  is an Academy Award- and BAFTA-nominated, as well as Golden Globe-winning, American actor. HE WAS A PART-FULL TIME CARPENTER IN LOS ANGELES BEFORE professionally pursuing acting. Definitely go for it! Persevere and achieve those dreams!
